Each stage of the ETICS system uses specific tools: a 50 cm notched trowel (6 mm tooth) for the first layer of mortar, a sanding trowel for preparing the surface of the insulation, a stainless steel trowel for smoothing the mortar, a sponge trowel for texturing the final finish.
The anodised aluminium scraper aligns and corrects the surface of the insulation boards prior to busbarring. Selecting the right tool for each operation determines the uniformity and flatness of the finished surface.
Preparing the insulation requires abrasives suited to the type of board (EPS, XPS, mineral wool). Applying the mortar requires trowels sized to the work area and the type of board. The final finish depends on the desired texture and the type of coating.

The planimetry of the insulation before barring determines the evenness of the entire reinforced base layer. Deviations of more than 4 mm per linear metre must be corrected by scraping before applying the coating mortar.

Tools in contact with cement mortar should be washed immediately after use. Hardened mortar damages the working surfaces of trowels and smoothing tools, reducing the quality of application.
Scrapers on 2rf scraper strips are interchangeable and should be replaced when they show visible wear. Sanding trowel abrasives have a limited service life and affect the uniformity of the prepared surface.
Stainless steel tools should be stored dry to prevent oxidisation. CLICK LINE handles should be removed for prolonged storage. Mixing propellers should be cleaned and dried after each use.

50 cm notched trowel with a 6 mm tooth for the first layer of coating mortar. The size of the tooth determines the thickness of the layer applied (approximately 2 mm).
The metal abrasive trowel is suitable for sanding EPS and XPS, removing bumps and irregularities more efficiently. The wool trowel is used for finer sanding and for surfaces that require less abrasion.
Scrapers should be replaced when there is visible wear on the cutting edges. Worn scrapers produce uneven surfaces and increase the scraping effort. The scrapers are interchangeable and sold separately.
Hexafix impellers are exclusive to Collomix mixers. Propellers with standard fittings (M14 or hexagonal) are compatible with mixers from other brands. Check the type of fitting before ordering.
The CLICK LINE handle is interchangeable between all Kubala tools in the same range that use this plug-in system. It allows you to use a single handle for different trowels and lances, reducing your investment in tools.
